The DEMMELER Future of Welding Centre hosted this year’s IHK May Reception organised by the IHK Regional Assembly of Memmingen and Unterallgäu. At the invitation of the IHK Regional Assembly of Memmingen and Unterallgäu, the traditional IHK May Reception 2026 took place at DEMMELER for the first time, providing a high-calibre platform for exchange, networking and discussions on economic policy.

Even before the official start, interested guests were given an exciting insight into DEMMELER’s modern manufacturing and automation technology during a tour of the facility. The focus of the evening then turned to the question of how Germany can strengthen its economic competitiveness and address current challenges.

A highlight was the lecture by Prof. Dr Hans-Werner Sinn on the topic “The crisis in the German economy and necessary reforms for Germany”. He analysed current challenges and outlined possible ways to strengthen Germany as a business location.

During the get-together that followed, guests took the opportunity to engage in personal discussions and deepen new contacts. The special atmosphere at the DEMMELER Future of Welding Centre provided the ideal setting for this.

For DEMMELER, hosting the IHK May Reception was a special honour and, at the same time, a strong sign of the importance of the Unterallgäu region as a business location. The evening impressively demonstrated how important dialogue between business, politics and society is for jointly developing solutions for the future.
